Tips for the best costume photo
- Stand facing the camera with your face and the clothes you want changed fully in view. Hats and costumes look best when the top of your head is in the frame.
- Even daylight or soft indoor light gives the most natural result. Strong backlight or deep shadows make the costume harder to place.
- Be specific when you type your own idea: "a gothic vampire with a red velvet cape" works better than "something scary".
- Not happy with the first try? Tap Try again for a new version, or switch costumes. Each run is a fresh edit of your original photo.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Halloween costume generator free?
Yes. It is free to use. Downloads carry a small allailab.com mark in the corner. Like every tool on AllAILab, it is paced on heavy use: if you make many costume photos in a short time, the next one may start after a short wait.
Will it still look like me?
The tool edits only your clothes, accessories and Halloween makeup and asks the AI to keep your face, hair, pose and background the same. AI can still change small details, so try again if a result does not look like you.
Is this a face swap?
No. Your own photo stays your photo. Nothing is swapped in from another person: the costume and makeup are painted onto you.
What kind of photo works best?
A clear, front-facing photo of one person with the face and outfit in view, taken in even light. Group photos and very dark or blurry pictures give weaker results.
Can I type my own costume idea?
Yes. Tap Type my own and describe it in a few words, for example a 1920s gangster, a sugar skull, a cowboy or a black cat. Clear, specific ideas give better costumes.
Can I use it to plan a costume before I buy one?
Yes, that is what many people use it for: try a few looks on the same photo and compare them. Keep in mind the outfit is an AI picture, not a real product, so use it for ideas rather than exact sizes or items.
Do you keep my photo?
Your uploaded photo is used to make the costume picture and is not kept. The finished costume image is stored so you can download it.
Can I make a costume photo for my dog or cat?
This tool is made for people. For pets, use the Pet Costume Try-On, which is built to keep your pet's breed, fur and face recognisable.
