Secret Santa Generator

Draw names for your gift exchange in seconds. Nobody gets themselves, couples can be kept apart, and each person sees only their own match. Free to use.

0 people · 3 to 100 names, one per line or separated by commas.

Names stay in your browser. Private links carry the match inside the link itself.

Need gift ideas?

Describe what they like. Only these words are sent to our AI, never anyone's name.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add names and rules

Type everyone taking part, one per line. Open "Who should not draw each other?" to keep couples or families apart, and set a budget and exchange date if you like.

  2. 2

    Draw names

Press Draw names. Everyone gives one gift and gets one gift, nobody draws themselves, and every exclusion is kept. Not happy? Press Re-draw.

  3. 3

    Share it privately

Send each person their own private link, pass one phone around the room, or print fold-over slips. Each person sees only who they are buying for.

Ways to run your draw

Office gift exchange

Paste the team list, set a budget everyone agrees on and send each coworker their private link in chat. Nobody, not even the organiser, has to know the matches.

Family Christmas

Put each household on one exclusion line so partners and siblings do not draw each other, then print slips to hand out at dinner or text the links.

Friends and roommates

Everyone in the same room? Use Pass the phone: each friend taps their name, checks their match, and hides it before handing the phone on.

Remote and online groups

For a group spread across cities, send each link by text or chat with the budget and exchange date built in, then open your gifts together on a video call.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Secret Santa generator free?

Yes. It is free to use for groups of 3 to 100 people. You can draw, re-draw, share links and print slips as often as you like. AI gift ideas are paced on very heavy use, like every tool on AllAILab.

Can someone draw their own name?

No. Every draw is checked so that nobody gets themselves, everyone gives exactly one gift and everyone receives exactly one gift. That is the problem with spinning a name wheel or pulling names from a hat, which can hand you your own name.

How do exclusions work?

Open "Who should not draw each other?" and write one rule per line. "Emma, Liam" means neither draws the other. List a whole family on one line to keep all of them apart. "Lucas > Emma" means only Lucas cannot draw Emma. If no fair draw exists with your exclusions, it tells you so (and names the people who have too few options when it can), so you can remove an exclusion.

How do the private links work?

Each link carries that person's match inside the link itself, so nothing is stored on our server. When they open it, they see only who they are buying for, plus the budget and date. Anyone who has a link can open it, so send each link only to its own person.

Do I need everyone's email address?

No. Copy each link and share it any way you like: text message, WhatsApp, a work chat or email. Or skip links and use Pass the phone or printed slips when everyone is together.

Are the names sent to your server?

No. The draw happens in your browser and the names stay there. Only the optional gift ideas feature talks to our AI, and it receives the interests and budget you type, never anyone's name.

Can I redo the draw?

Yes. Press Re-draw for a fresh set of matches, or Edit names to add or remove people first. After a re-draw, share the new links or slips, because the earlier ones no longer match.

How do the AI gift ideas work?

Type a few things the person likes, choose who it is for and the budget, and the AI suggests six gift ideas that fit. It is there whether you are the organiser or opening your own reveal link.
