What Phone Do I Have?
Open this page on the phone you want to check. Android phones show their model right away; on an iPhone we narrow it down and show the three taps to confirm.
Checking this device…
Checked in your browser. The model code stays on this page.
Not your phone, or it won't turn on?
Upload a photo of the back. We look at the camera layout, logo and shape and give our best guess, plus any look-alike models.
Free. Your photo is not stored.
The phone's likely make and model appear here.
How to check what phone you have
iPhone
- Open Settings.
- Tap General, then About.
- Model Name shows the name, such as iPhone 15 Pro. Model Number shows the part number; tap it once to see the A-number (for example A2848) that identifies the exact version.
On older iOS versions without Model Name, search the A-number from Model Number to find the name.
Samsung Galaxy
- Open Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap About phone.
- Model name shows the marketing name (Galaxy S24, Galaxy A15 and so on) and Model number shows the code, such as SM-S921B.
The letters at the end of the model number show the region version. Cases fit every region version of the same phone.
Google Pixel
- Open Settings.
- Tap About phone.
- The model is listed under Device name or Model, for example Pixel 8 Pro.
Other Android phones (Motorola, OnePlus, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, realme)
- Open Settings.
- Tap About phone (on some phones it is under System > About phone, or My device).
- Look for Model or Model name. If you only see a code, search it to find the phone's name.
Any phone: dial *#06#
- Open the phone app and dial *#06#.
- Your IMEI number (or numbers, on dual-SIM phones) appears on screen. Many Samsung and Android phones also show the model here.
The IMEI identifies your exact handset, so carriers and trade-in shops may ask for it. Keep it private otherwise.
Phone won't turn on?
- Look at the back: many phones print the model name or model number near the bottom, or on the SIM tray.
- Check the original box or your carrier account or receipt, which list the model.
- Or upload a photo of the back above and we will name it from its camera layout and shape.
Frequently asked questions
How does this page know what phone I have?
On Android, Chrome and Samsung Internet share the phone's model code with websites that ask, and we match that code to a name from our list. On iPhone, Apple only tells websites that it is an iPhone, so we narrow it down from the screen size and show you where to check the exact model. All of this happens in your browser.
Why can't it tell my exact iPhone model?
Safari does not share the iPhone model with websites, for privacy. Several iPhones share the same screen size, so the best a website can do is list the models that match. Settings > General > About > Model Name gives you the exact answer in three taps.
It showed a code instead of a name. What does that mean?
Your phone shared its model code, but that code is not in our list yet, so we show the code instead of guessing. Search the code and you will find the phone's name, or open Settings > About phone.
Is the answer always right?
An Android model code comes straight from the phone, so a named match is reliable. iPhone results are a short list, and turning on Display Zoom can change the screen size the browser sees. The photo check is a best guess from the phone's looks, and phones in the same series can look alike. When it matters, confirm in your phone's settings.
Do you store my phone model or my photo?
The model code stays in your browser. We only count which kind of result the page showed (for example an iPhone or a Samsung) to improve the tool. A photo you upload is used for that one check and is not stored.
What is the difference between a model name and a model number?
The model name is what the phone is sold as, such as Galaxy S23 Ultra. The model number is a code for the exact version, such as SM-S918B, which can differ by country or carrier. For cases and screen protectors the model name is enough; for repairs, parts and some trade-ins you may need the model number.
Why would I need to know my phone model?
Common reasons are buying a case or screen protector, checking that a phone works with a new carrier or plan, selling or trading it in, finding the right charger or repair part, and checking which software updates it will get.
Is it free?
Yes. The instant check is free and runs in your browser. The photo check is free too and, like every tool on AllAILab, is paced on heavy use.
